Alum Creek Reservoir will be the site of a Crappie USA Inc. tournament Oct. 8. Anglers will be fishing for a seven-fish limit. The weigh-in is scheduled for 3 p.m. at the New Galena Boat Ramp off Africa Road.

A pre-tournament seminar, which is open to the public, will be held at 7 p.m. Oct. 7 at the Delaware Hotel.

Entry fees are $75 per team in the Amateur Division and $155 in the Semi-Pro Division. Participants must be members of the American Crappie Association. Membership is $20 for adults and $10 for spouse and youth memberships.

To enter, register on the Crappie USA Web site: Teams may also enter at the seminar, but late entries will be subject to a $20 late fee.

A crappie kids fishing rodeo, free to children age 12 and under, will be held from 9-11 a.m. at the New Galena ramp on the day of the tournament. Signups begin at 8 a.m. Prizes include a chance to win a $5,000 scholarship.
  2. I would like to try this tournament but the fees are a bit out of range. Does anyone know how to get a tournament sponsor lined up?
