Cowan Lake crappies

  1. If numbers are more important than size, Cowan Lake is your destination.
Was there Sunday evening and caught 25 in about 90 minutes fishing at the marina. The fish were nearly all 8-10 inches. That lake is polluted with crappies this year. Was catching them on a fly rod using a dark green/white clouser minnow with #8 hook.

Was there all day Saturday across from the spillway, the marina must have bigger fish, we caught plenty but I would put that size range at more like 6-9" with a FEW 9-10. The numbers are definatley there though. IMO 8-10" is a stretchfor the average.
