Checked ice at several locations

  1. I went out punching holes Friday at several ponds and strip pits and it was about the same, 2" of good ice with 2"-3" of white crusty snow ice on top. It could be better by now. I'm heading up to Mosquito Lake Monday and Tuesday (Northeast Ohio) and when I get back I'll start fishing around here.
By then I would think even with the snow our ice should be pretty good.

I'm really looking forward to trying peidmont this year.

We tried a few ponds at AEP on Friday too. We were able to find up to 3.5 inches, but no pond was good enough under the snow cover. Maybe in 2 weekends we will be back, but not before then.
