Could it be? The size of the bait makes all the difference now?

Was bass fishing a pvt pond last week, and caught hardly anything. Downsized to a bluegill lure, and started popping bass left and right.

Crappie fished all morning today. Started with 3 dozen crappie, 1 dozen bass minnows. Ended up catching 2 crappie on small minnies. Moved locations, and picked up a can of wax worms. Started nailing crappie, and also a few nice gills.

My last couple trips have learned me to throw out small.

size seems to matter on gills n crappies this time of the year. i was watching fish approach a jig the other day and they were not in a feeding frenzy. the fish would swim up to the bait and stare at it then just open there gills , if the bait didnt move , they didnt bite. if the bait moved then they would whack it. this is about as big as i go this time of the year for panfish.
