The strike was totally vicious, I was so shocked all I could do was stand there and watch, no thought was ever given to setting the hook. It happened while I was doing my figure eight at the side of the boat. She came charging from under the boat, gills flaring, jaws snapping and tried to destroy my bait, if only I could has gotten a hook into her. Now I was a bit excited and I know when you get excited you may tend to exaggerate a little but I swear that Sun Fish was every bit of 4 inches. Fished from 6:30 AM until 12:30 PM, water temperature 75 to 79 degrees, a light breeze put a nice ripple on the water. For some reason there were virtually no boats on the lake until about 10:30 when the pleasure boats started coming out.
