Went out about a week ago, fished 'til about 1 a.m., tried my usual summer nite holes and didn't have much success. Area is adjacent to deep water as well as a shallow point, with bottom structure that normally produces real well. Tried everything I could think of, with no results. Probable won't get out that way again until the fall.
Comming in off the lake into the channel going back to the Hains Boat Ramp at idle speed using a spot light, the bugs are thick. Had to hold the spot light out to the side to keep the bugs off of me. If you hold the spot light in one place very long all kinds of fish jumping for the bugs. And the lake is full of minnows right now, looks like shiners but not sure.
