CC 6/9 evening

  1. Well mother nature wasn't playing nice Weds evening. Got on the lake around 7:00 pm. Put in @Wellman and headed up into jonas creek (by the boat camping area). Had a man from church and his two boys with me, we were all set for some serious blue gill fishing.

Got setup and one of the boys had a nice crappie in the boat before the other had his line in. The fishing was like that for about the next hour, the boys catching one bluegill after another, mostly 5"-6". The boys outfished the men about 6 to 1 ;) . Anyway around 8:15 the weather started heading down hill so we packed it in, got off the water just as the T-storm hit. Still a very good hour of fishing, the boys had a blast!!

All fish caught using wax worms and meal worms, anchored in 15' of water casting up toward brush/stumps on the bank.
  2. I am glad you were able to get into some fish. The coves and pockets in the boat camping area are good for the gills.
