i agree most winter caught flatheads are snagged in wintering holes.

There was an In-fisherman show a few years ago that I seen, and they were catching flatheads on jigs and soft plastics in thier wintering holes. The fish were eating the bait, so there no doubt in my mind that they do feed in the winter...all other cats do, why wouldn't flatheads? Obviously though, they stressed on that show how easy it could be to fish out a stretch of river, so catch and release only.;)

i think i've heard enough first hand experiences to be confident that not all winter flathead are SNAGGED. i don't know why people remain so hard headed about the fact that flatheads feed in the winter.
