    CountryKat Fish On!!!

I am posting this here because I figured it would get more eyes on it. I just pulled this from the catfish section: Channel catfish populations in lakes less than 700 acres usually have to be maintained through stocking due to a lack of natural reproduction.

I thought that channels cats spawned in rck crevises, logs, basically any type of hole. Am I wrong on this? I have read this in In-Fisherman books and magazines.

    Fishman Catch bait???

They do spawn in smaller lakes, but it just isn't as prominant as larger lakes that hold better habitat. Fish hatcherys spawn them in Lakes as small as 1/4 acre, heck you could technically do it in an even smaller body of water. Predation and natural death as young though are probably the main reason smaller lakes are stocked.
