what kind of cover/structure does carp like.bays, fallen trees, ext.
You got it.....Carp Love over-hanging trees, Fallen trees, thick weed beds to hide in. Sand-Silt-gravel patches to feed in. Current breaks, eddys, bays, coves & slack water pools to hold in. They feed on shallow bars..hide in deeper water when not in the mood.
They'll feed on the surface for insects, ect. Sift through the bottom collecting snails, crayfish, water insects, works, ect. They will feed in 12" of water or 20 ft. of water...they go where the food is. They are omnivorse and will eat a lot of different things.
Good luck in your carp hunt...but be warned its addicting as heck.
Nothing else in Ohio's water pulls as hard and is so plentiful...not many anglers can say they can catch a 100 fish in a day that total over 1000 lbs. in our waters.
"Carp The Worlds Greatest Sportfish!"
when i went carp fishing it was like reeling in dead wieght but they would do screaming runs
LOL....LOL.....Ya sure you were catching carp?
I had the same thing happen up at Erie this spring...they would hit a run great...but pretty much drag them on the surface with no fight..but that was in COLD water.
Also that was LAKE fishing......river fish fight 10x's harder. River fish fight hard even in dead of winter.
