Caesar's Creek crappie and saugeye report 5-7-04

Discussion in 'Southwest Ohio Fishing Reports' started by Alter, May 8, 2004.

  1. This report is from my dad not me. I was stuck working in NE Ohio while he was fishin' .

He was fishing from shore in the Jonah's Run area and got into some decent crappie, both black and white, and a saugeye or two using minnows on jig heads. He said the bite started at 4:30 after the rain and shut off as quickly as it started. I think the grand total was 7 crappie over 9" and one 15+" saugeye with one dink saugeye and a few dink crappie thrown back. Sounds like the fish have moved to near-shore cover so the bite is starting to picking up.

    Alter,

Thanks for the report! It's definitely good to hear about people have decent luck at CC, especially from shore. The saugeye fishery definitely seems to be getting better there. I haven't fished the main lake yet this year, but hopefully will within the next couple weeks.
