C C Lake Crappie report 9/23/o8

  1. Lake level is down slightly and water is almost clear depending where you are on the lake. Lake surface temp was 75 degrees at 930am. We caught a lot of crappie from 6" to 12" and keep 7 that were from 10" to 12".
The bigger ones seem to be closer to the bottom in structure and the smaller ones were from 5 ft to 10 ft deep. Some were warm to the touch and some were cold. I would say the cold ones are just working out of the deeper water. They still seem to be very loose schools with one here and there. The cooler weather may bring them out of the deeper waters soon if it ever cools off.
