Brookville Indiana tail water

  1. The new trout season opened today at the Brookville tailwater and the fish were biting. It was, as they say, cheek by jowl crowded in the morning. By 2pm you could find some elbow room. Caught 7 trout, only one was a Brown left over from last year's stocking. The morning offered some top water action with a BWO hatch. Afternoon fishing was mostly subsurface with olive wholly buggers and san juan worms catching fish. The rainbows are smallish so I recommend small whollies, say size 10 or 12.

  2. I was also out there yesterday.... now I know why they say never to go on a weekend! Anyway, I was slingin' meat and caught several browns between 12" and 16". I also caught 2 smaller 'bows. And a sucker! Great water. Healthy fish. And unfortunately, everyone knows about it!
