Broken Pole Help

Discussion in 'Hard Water Discussions' started by fisherman261, Dec 27, 2004.

  1. Somehow I managed to break off about one inch of my ultra light pole today. My question is, is it worth getting the tip put back on, or will I loose a lot of my sensitivity. Unfortunately I think I know the answer to this, but figured I would ask for your opinions.
  2. seems to me 1 inch wouldnt make that much difference,,,,,.....

  3. Just have a new guide put on. You will never know the difference. Broke about 1.5" off my St.Croix Avid and it does not feel any different. :)

It should't change the sensitivity, rod is still made of the same material. What it could change a little would only be the action of the rod. In your case it shouldn't really even be noticeable. I snapped off about 6" from a medium action rod once and turned it into a quasi medium heavy one. ;)
  7. I forgot to mention that this was my 24" ice rod.
