Slower action out there for us today. Six rods eight pull backs six netted. Mixed in size no FO. Same programs as last night. Marked a ton but just couldn't hit them hard. With gas prices where there at I pulled the plug after 3 hours. Good luck all.

We got two of our three tickets before we finally gave up as well. There are a ton of white bass, white perch and sheephead so bring lots of bait. We probably burned through 4 or 5 dozen crawlers in 5 hrs. We caught 5 yellow perch today also. Usually we pull one or two but never had 5 while trolling.

RUN CRANKS !!

800 RR's with 2 oz at 20'. Total leads 40-60-80-100 pulled fish consistantly with only a couple sheep and whities. Speed 1.8 -2.0. Our best color was purple anything.

Biggest 30" / 11.2 on digital brought in 3/4 of the way by a 9yr old. <customer/dad has the pics>

And now the story.
While fighting the fish and barely able to reel it in for the youngster....the mono line broke with the board 10' from the boat. Quick fire drill with rods, turn and kicker motor back to the board and dad leans over and grabs the board. Yep, the fish was still on, and he hand-lined it into the net. <close inspection of the rod found a crack porcelain on the rod tip>

We started out at the south end of the Lorain dump. Lots of marks but could not keep the worms on the harnesses long enough for the walleye to get them. Tons of white bass, white perch and sheephead. Moved out further twice with the same story.

Ran out to 36/20 with much better results. Still a few junk fish but got 8 nice fish in 2 hrs before we had to leave (son had to go back to CT). One fish was 31 inches, 11 pounds. Colorados in green & yellow, 2 oz 60 back, 1.5 mph.

Hoping to go out again Mon &/or Tues & will try those cranks with the 2 oz wt 20 foot up.

we finished up with 14 today about 3 miles south of the bouy. started at the dumping grounds but with only 1 after an hour packed up. we fished 35 foot down today and managed what we got in about 3 hours. 3oz. 80 back, 4oz bb 60 back, and 6oz bb 56 back. speed was 1.5-1.7. gold backs, yellow and green with orange and green beads, pink and purple blades with purple and green beads. left with 4 shy because we had a family outing. we left at 3 the lake was pretty flat and headed back to lorain and found caps on the way in so it took a little longer. strange how the lake changes like that. the wind did change up though. good luck tomorrow guys
