do you leave your map cards in your gps,or should i take it out each trip. i know i will lose it?
If you mean the chip ala Navionics chip, I leave mine in all year round.
Leave them in. Less chances for losing, breaking, static zapping, etc..
Leave them in I have a chip that has been in one of my units since 03, that came off my old boat.
thanx, the booklet says to remove them to prevent damage from water, rain and humidity.etc ,etc
My chip has been in my GPS unit for years.
Are you telling me there's a chip in those GPS units...!
Same here, I never take either of mine out except for the portable and that's just to put in a different one.
my 172 has a base map ,but i baught a garmin lake erie map card for it. shows ALL the details and .even ramps and navigation detail. great for fishing and hunting waterfowl.
