i needed to replace my bilge pump so i bought a new one and began to remove the old.thinking that this was gonna be a "piece of cake" job was probably my first mistake.you know, mount the base, cut the old wires, connect the new wires, etc. why would have someone mounted a bilge pump base with rivets??? well, that's how the old one was installed! i ended up having to drill out the rivets(i found myself quickly turning to religion,"lord PLEASE don't let me drill through the hull!!!" ) anyway, the new one is in and is mounted with stainless steel nuts and bolts so the next one can be replaced easily. i'm begining to miss my old 14 fter!!!!
