Berlin Walleyes in shallow?

Discussion in 'Northeast Ohio Fishing Reports' started by CatmanOne, Jun 16, 2008.

  1. Been taking good numbers of walleye at berlin in deeper water lately. Does anyone know if they are going to move into the shallow willows or did I miss it for this year already?

  2. How deep is deep? I was there a week ago, only got one small 'eye. Not big enough to keep.:S :T

    I think you missed it.

  4. They should be droppin the water soon.

  5. Walleyes are always relating to wood and weeds. I would fish the deeper lake side of these at this time, preferably in the evening til dark, very overcast days, or at first light/sunrise. Try jigs and crawlers, jigs and minnows live/(GULP), or medium shallow running cranks. I have caught them on these lures at 2 PM on a hot, sunny day in the willows as well.

  6. Thanks for the replies. I am still getting fish in deeper water. Look for humps, and fish the slopes of them. Jigs tipped with crawlers. Good luck.
