Went to Berlin yesterday after the Crappie. I fished from the shore off the dock were people launch their boats. I was pleasently surprised to see very large Bluegills eagerly taking waxworms. I caught 106 Gills all 7-9 inches in a little under four hours. Great fun for my son. I have cleaned half and have a surplus for the winter. Also I saw one boat pull in with thirteen Walleyes. All nice size. I think maybe the Gills were feasting on zebra mussells. The lake is extremely low and Zebra mussells are everywere.

I was using a slip bobber with the hook two feet under. I say bait was probally in the water for five seconds or less before it got hit. I was fishing at the boat ramp that is off route 224. It's the main place to launch a boat. Be extremely careful as the Gills are very aggresive right now! ;)
