Battery Location ?

  1. I have a 1975 16' fiberglass bow-rider with lounge seats. I'm wondering the best place to mount my batteries. There never has been a bracket or strap to hold batteries down. The stern area in front of transom & under lid is carpetted & looks like it may work for sliding gear under so I'd like to mount batteries under pilots seat. Anyone have any pros or cons? The passenger (or would it be 1st mate) seat has 12 gallon steel permanently mounted gas tank under it.
