I'm just looking for suggestions on a good, preferably inexpensive, battery for a trolling motor. It will be for a bow mount 40# minn kota with foot controls. Any thoughts would be great. Thanks,

    wal-mart batteries!

For the money you cant beat them. I have two that I got early this year and they run great. My brother got some back in 2002 and has never had a problem with them. They have kept a good charge and so on and so on. Just my 2 cents.

ditto on the walmart everstarts.that's all i've used and the price is right.60-70 bucks.i also run a 40# minnkota.
i don't maintain them like i should, but my last one was purchased over 2 years ago,and still doing good.i have another abused one that's 4 years old and though it won't last as long,it still gives me few hours of run time.

I agree with the Wal-mart or Sams Club batteries. Really good batteries and both places have a good warrenty.
