BassBoat Wiring Question

Discussion in 'Boats and Motors' started by GaryED, Jun 1, 2007.

  1. When I went to put the starting battery back in my bassboat after the winter, I can not for the life of me remember how a couple of the wires were hooked up. I know the 2 large wires for the motor go positive and negitave. Its the other 3 wires for the electronics, there is a small diameter red fused wire I assume is positive, a small diameter black wire I think is negative and a smill diameter green wire...this is the one that stumps the green positive or negative. I tried to trace the wires back to the dashboard but there was no way to see where they go. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
  2. Hook all the wires up except the green exactly as you described. Then see what does't work if anything. You should not harm anything by not hooking up a wire. My ques is it's an extra wire for an automatic bilge pump that would hook to a switch if you want to run it manually. But this is just a guess.

  3. Green Wire Is Usely Ground In Reg Wireing Diagrams.
  4. And where is ground on a boat???
