Discussion in 'The Lounge' started by CPTN.CROWN, May 7, 2004.

  1. been batteling back problems now for a while. When my feet and legs started going numb figured it was time to go in. Well 6 weeks of going to family doc, finally referd me to a physical medicine dr. Went yesterday, 2 steroid shots in the small of my back, to help till mondday. Got an mri today, and spinal tap monday. Going to inject steriods directly in my spine, to help the herniated disc's. 3 of em, if this dont work its surgery. Man this suck's. Another fishing season shot to hell due to injurys

  3. I went the same route you are taking and all it resulted in was a temporary amount of relief. I know it is hard to condider surgery but you will probably end up as I did with soo much pain that you will be willing to do anything to get rid of it. I finally went and had the surgery and I kick myself for not doing it sooner. Total recovery takes time but pain is gone immediately and I was fishing again in four weeks. Took about a year to regain all the back strength and confidence in total balance. Had this done twice and I'm pain free now for three years. :D

  4. The pain is so bad ive thrown-up several times. Funny to see a grown man cry, but this is brutal. Been thru 2 knee reconstructions, and this is worse times 10. Got me on some mondo percocet, that makes me stupid, and not care, but dam it still hurts. Im ready to get cut, now, but doc wants to see if this will help first. They are very worried that it will effect my bladder/bowel as its the bottom 3 dics. I hope soon i can get it fixed, THIS SUCKS

My wife is recouperating after back surgery in the same area Capt. It was outpatient surgery and she walked into the house afterwards under her own power. Standing straight as an arrow now. She is in week 4 of 6 week rehab time.

Wishing you the best of luck!

I know what you are going through.I broke my back in'95 and now I have 5 degenerative disk and three slightly bulging disk, this is what the mri show's .But went to the specialist and he said everything looks find.I ask him why my legs and feet go numb and he tells me it's a problem with my feet.So ask him why my back hurts so much and he pretty much tell's me you'll have that. So now I don't know what to do because I don't have insurance anymore and can't afford to go to doctor .I'm also out of meds and can't afford these either.I haven't worked in almost three years because of this.I know what you mean about throwing up and crying I've been there.Sorry for complaing.Good luck to you and I hope everything works out for you,so that you can live pain free.
