Fished atwood yesterday 10-3.. from noon till 330. havent been out to atwood in a while. water temp was around 64 degrees. fish were deep.. lots of crappie all small.. did get a 1 saugeye around 4 to 5 lbs. couldnt get him close enough to the boat for the net.just came up about 10 ft away from the boat with the wind blowing and me tryin to run the foot control. Told my buddy that the handle on the net extends and he ended up pullin the whole thing out..! just as he broke water for the first time.. probably coulda got a net on him then but the second time he broke water that was the last. hooks pulled as i didnt have my drag set accordingly. i just couldnt get a good position on him. these saugye just dont give up like a walleye..smart smart smart... rainy wet windy cold weather..this fall fishin is awesome.
