One of my neighbors said he use to fish in lake rupert(Hamden) way back...he said it was deep and full of pike? Just wondering if it was true and how hard it is to catch them. Or if there is anything else in it? (bass, walleye,catfish,etc...) How many acres is it, can I get a bass boat in it? Any info would be appriciated! Thanks!

no pike.. it may have been one of the lake that where stocked with pike long ago before they figured out the didn't survive worth a darn.
It is stocked with saugeye... they can be tricky to catch at times thou
Good catfish and bass population

It has a decent boat ramp 10hp limit

200 acres or so (rough guess)

the lower end by the damn and the creek channel is fairly deep 27-30ft max most is much less
a couple shallow pionts that go a good way out into the lake

I agree with Fishslime. I've been fishing there for a few years now. There are some nice size crappies in there too. I've got a bassboat and never have had a problem launching. May go there this Saturday.
