I met and have become good friends with a Ukrainian pastor whose church is in one of the "Project" areas in Kiev, Ukraine. Its a very small, humble church that excels at reaching out to and helping the poor around them. The pastor is a fisherman who has asked me to help him find a couple rod/reels for his fishing. He fishes a BIG river, the Dnieper that runs through Kiev. He's looking for two setups that are: rods- 10' 10" to 12' 10" in length, able to cast chum basket of 4 1/4 oz. 100-120 meters(394 ft.) without breaking the rod tip. Google Translate messes up our words some, so I'm wondering if his "cast" also includes the air drift, and current drift of his setup, and the depth it sinks to. Reels- need to hold 200 meters (218 yards) of line. Does this setup sound like a catfish setup? Carp? Anyone?
