My Daughter and I caught some cats last night. Caught 6 .....3 of them had these bugs/insects on them. Some had little ones around their mouths and wiskers one had sores on its tail..see pic. Anybody know what they are?

I have never caught a fish with them before at any lake..been fishing this lake alot this summer catch 5-7 fish a trip and have not had one fish with them on them before?? Got me puzzled??

leeches. I have seen that kind on roof of the mouth of several largemouth pond bass. Im guessing you caught them from a weedy area?

Actually no not weedy at all, is this like a leech hatch or something thats going on??

I would of moved from the area, no matter how well the fish were biting, looks like a science project from a B movie gone wrong.

As mentioned, just a small type of leech. It's very common to find them on catfish. Not usually that many, but most catfish have some that you just don't notice.

Small leeches. It is common to see them on snapping turtles too.
