Any scuba divers out there?

  1. I have been neglecting my love of diving for the last year or so and was wondering if there are any divers that might want to hit Erie this summer. We could hit a few wrecks or artificial reefs. I just need to dive and prefer not to do it alone.

  2. Yup right here! Dove as a large part of my work for the last two summers, and will be for at least the next two years working in TN. Also dove in FL the Keys, and some inland quarries. Wish I could join ya but I am moving in a few weeks.

There is a dive shop in lakewood, although they just moved that has a nice mailing list of people that go there and they dive locally, and im sure Buckeye Diving has a good amount od Erie diving and local divers.

  3. Ashton,

I visit Aqua Specialists all of the time. I know I can probably hook up with a few people from there, but I was kind of hoping to find a couple of people here that dove. It's fun to dive one of the reefs, see what down there in the way of fish, and then try to catch them. I figure that anyone from this site would not be too opposed to wetting a line between or after the dive.

Scuba Diving is something I have always wanted to venture into. What's it take to get started money and time wise?

  5. aprrox 200-400 for a class and sometimes deals are cut on the basic equipment. maks fins and snorkel will run you 100-200. wet suits, which I dont recommend buying unless you do it alot, run 50-400. not a bad thing really when you rent though you can get the essentials for a day pretty cheap, probably on par or less than renting a boat say at a local state park. Or if you go with a shop or excursion that provides all their own its usually not that much too.
