If anyone has any ideas or pictures or knows of anywhere I could get a look at a simple windbreaker for ice fishing please let me know. Not really thinking "shanty"....just "wind wall" or wind diverter.

My Dad has a sweet shanty but sometimes I fish after work for a few hours by myself and Im kicking around ideas in my head for something very simple and light that i could pop up to break the wind.

Cold temps dont bother me at all but it would be nice to break the wind. (lol :p )

Im thinking maybe half a pyramid shape but more low slung.

Also need to come up with a way to anchor it that is strong but easy to remove.

I know I ask a lot... :) Just thinking "out loud", really.

    Good fishing.

  2. Hardwater,

I think Frabill had something like you are looking for a few years back. It was basically a sled with a storage box mounted at the bottom end. When you got to your spot, you stood it up and the box served as your seat and the sled itself worked as a windbreak. I don't know how they were anchored though. I hope this helps.

Just thinking about ice fishing lately i guess.... :)

I think a rear end is probably all that holds something like that down. Neat idea....thanks for your input.
