anchoring the seats in a boat to a fiberglass floor?

    KSUFLASH respect our rivers please

I am looking for a method of anchoring the seats in my boat to the fiberglass floor. Seems over the years the anchoring system that was in place broke loose, and the seats pretty much just slide around. The clearance between the floor and the actual hull of the boat is somewhat small, so I can't really use a drywall anchoring system due to the post wont go down into the floor that far. Anyone know what I can due to anchor these seats back down. They are the typical front to back box seats on bot sides.

    Thanks in advance.

  2. If toggle bolts won't fit you can get some brass threaded inserts at your local hardware store. They have coarse threads on the outside which thread into a hole in the floor. The inner hole has threads to fit stainless steel machine screws. As long as the plywood in the floor is solid they should work. Some epoxy on the coarse threads might help.
