Alum Creek report - Ice fishing

Discussion in 'Central Ohio Fishing Reports' started by lv2fish, Feb 8, 2009.

  1. Spent a great day at New Galena cove today. Fishing was pretty slow, plenty of fish in the area but very stubborn to bite. I managed 8 crappie with 4 over 10 inches, the bite was very lite and I missed many more than I caught. Several other fisherman were out today, but very slow for everyone, some gills and crappie. Great day on the ice, can't beat the sun and warm temps. ICE was 9-10 inches, very solid, no worries.

  2. iv2fish--were you fishing at 3:30 pm Sunday? I saw 2 guys there about 50 yards apart...how thick was the ice when you augered? Water was standing all around the cove edges...didn't look safe.
