Algae Bloom at Nimi, and Turkeyfoot

Has anyone noticed how bad the algae seems to be at Nimi, and Turkeyfoot? It seems to hinder the crappie bite at both lakes especially when jig fishing. Nimisila is very bad, and the water quality doesn't look great there in the shallow areas. I've never seen large schools of bluegill gathering near the banks. Pulling slimy strings of algae from my jig after every cast is aggravating.

It's going on everywhere. All my little getaway ponds are choke full. It is kinda frustrating as this last year I was throwing top water and slinging spinners. Now its next to impossible to do that. Has to be the mild winter that is causing the algae bloom???
