Afternoon hunt

Discussion in 'Waterfowl Hunting' started by sc83, Dec 22, 2008.

  1. Hunted some big water tonight and seen a few ducks and a good number of geese. I managed to get my first diver though, a hen buffie.

  2. Waterfowl hunting can be a tough sport...Have had some all day hunts that were fantastic...but most of my best hunts were the morning hunts..ducks can get goofy at times...Just have to go out and pay your dues...
    GOOD WATERFOWLING...C.L...

  3. I hunted my lease today which is right across the street from a roost lake that is holding 500+ geese and 200+ ducks. Wouldn't you know it, I can hunt every field on the left side of the road for almost a mile and the geese were feeding in the fields on the right side of the road where permission cannot be obtained. That's just my luck. I set up 7 dozen full body goose decoys trying to pull them over to no avail. I did work in several flocks of ducks in the corn this morning and we took a 2 man limit of mallards.
