I have an Old Radisson lightweight 14' canoe that I have installed their aluminum and foam seats. I use it for fly fishing lakes and some camping. I am considering moving toward a kayak for a number of reasons:
  • stability
  • weight?
  • mobility, transporting it on top of my lightweight truck slide in pop up camper.
I have just started looking and have seen different ones used locally. What are some things I should be looking for in a kayak for fly fishing?

Thanks

I don't fly fish at all, yet. But if I was going to from a kayak I would want a stable wide open and low platform. Something like the Jackson liska or Native has a board/kayak hybrid.

You'll want a wide stable yak with a clear foot deck and a double hull. Unfortunately the lighter the yak, the less stable it will be. You'll need to find your sweet spot. --Tim
