Acton Lake - (Hueston Woods) 10-17

  1. Hi.
The crappie were active this morning in the area in front
of the dam. I was catching them on jigs, and minnows from
two feet, down to about nine feet. Another guy that shows
up there regularly, and myself probably caught between
20 to 30 in a couple of hours this morning.
I kept six between 10 to 12 inches.

    Gloves up!

PS. The dam can be found by locating the archery range.
Head straight back from the parking lot, about 150 yards.
The dam is actually a rocky hillside etc... be carefull and
    don't fall in etc...
  2. Thanks for the report. The crappie are running smaller this year than last year. I caught more big ones than small ones last year. We need some rain bad. Maybe this store tonight will bring a lot of rain and fill the lake up. Its hard to get the boats in and out with the lake that low. I've been getting some real big black crappie out of Caesars Creek the last two weeks.
