Acton Lake 03/03/09

  1. We drove over to Huston woods to check on Acton lake. The water level is up to within foot of the boat ramps so that would be just about full. The lake was completly iced over from one end to the other and had a zillion birds on the ice. It will take a few good warm days and some rain and it should be ready for fishing.
It appeared that the state is working on all of the old docks replaceing the old metal tanks they had under them and had re graveled the area of the boat ramp and parking lot.
The state needs to do something about all of these geese like maybe eat them or feed them to the poor.

  2. I second that comment on the geese there Taxicab. You would think some of Oxfords elite - aka... "The Sailing club" would complain that one of their tree hugging friends stepped in some doo doo! And put an end to the nuisance, nah, they will just blame the fishermen for chasing them off of the lake, and up onto the ramp!!!

  3. I can't believe that ice is still on Acton, it must be really shallow, or something.
