Acton Action

Discussion in 'Southwest Ohio Fishing Reports' started by TristateBassmaster, Sep 1, 2004.

  1. headed out to hueston woods the other day. started out about 8am and finished about 3pm. typical slow, post-spring fishing day at acton with a total of 5 bass - two 12 inchers, two even smaller and one well-fed 17 incher that was about 3 lb. All fish caught between 9:30 and 11:30 with zip after that as the sun came on strong about noon.

Saw a good number of fishing boats until about noon when I guess everyone threw in the towel. Talked to several other boats that seemed to have very similar results. Gotta get there early this time of year.

I will tell you that 4 came off of wood and the big one came out of weeds but the pattern seemed to be catching them right next to the structure, you had to put it right in front of their nose. (i don't think catching just 5 qualifies as a pattern though). They didn't want to chase anything, even my beloved wacky rig.
