Have tried reloading and updated Direct X. Can anyone point me in the correct direction?

Bill...I'd focus on your video card driver. Whatever model vid card you have, get the LATEST drivers for it. 99% of the problems that game has (documented) are vid drivers.

Give me the make and model and I could try and hunt them down if you can't find them.

  3. That is what I was going to try. Thanks for the confirmation.

Reel Lady Dreams DO come true!

So are you all fixed up and ready to play now? :D
  5. Updated drivers and followed all their suggestions. The computer appears to exceed minimum standards (not by much in some catagories!). I have e-mailed Atari and just waiting on a reply. :(

Reel Lady Dreams DO come true!

What operating system do you use?
  7. It may sound crazy, but you might also want to check your sound card driver and make sure it's updated as well. When I got Nascar Racing 2003 season, I could not get it to run properly... downloaded new video drivers, update directx, but still nothing.. someone suggested to get the sound card driver, and it worked!

Bill....What model vid card ya got, and what version of DirectX are you running?
  9. Updated all drivers I could already.

Operating System: Windows 98 (4.10 build)
Sound Card: Creative SBPCI Direct Sound Driver
Video Card (?) - Chip: Mach64GT, Name: Rage IIC AGP
    Direct-X: 9.0

May be sticking to Trophy Bass 4!

Hmmm...that Rage II might not be compatible..it's an older card.
  11. That's what I'm starting to wonder about ShakeDown. That is the most updated driver the computer will handle without replacing the card. The computer is 5 years old and was bought just before technology started taking leaps and bounds on advancements in computers.

Ask Santa for a new vid card! Even a 64mb GeForce MX (which will do the trick) should be less than $50.
  13. Any other suggestions or should I not invest too much into a machine this old. It's only a 700MHz with 128mb of RAM.

bad drivers... i loaded the "update" driver pack but...... my old rig used to lock on the "infinate loop" sounds as well ( a latentcy patch took care of most of that).
