9.9 problems!!!!

  1. I have a 1996 johnson 9.9. it runs just fine first thing in the morning but after it warms up it almost stalls at full throttle but not at half throttle. I have changed the pressure ball, the fuel line, cleaned the carb!!! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  2. thanks for the info!

  3. Might want to check the Vent Valve on the fuel tank. A friend of mine trouble shooted his whole system, then found his fuel tank in a collapsed state. He popped the vent valve open and bingo, no more stalling! The motor was drawing a vacuum because the vent was closed and he didn't know it. Just my two cents.

  4. Thanks for the info but i have tried it both ways with the vent opened or closed! Maybe i will get lucky and it might fall into the lake and my insurance will buy me a new one :p

  6. sure did. That was the first thing i checked. thanks for the reply.

  7. try changing your spark plug, sometimes that can be the problem.

  8. I just repaired a 15 hp that was doing the same thing ,,it was the fuel pump

  9. I had a 9.9 that did the same thing. It had a bad reed. Easy to fix.
