I have an old savage .22 hornet with a weaver G4 tube scope. it is a 3/4 tube with a side mount bracket the scope is very dim does anyone have suggestion for a quick cost effective scope upgrade.

Great round I took many groundhogs with it, I had a 3X10 Simmons 44 Mag scope on the one that I had, it worked fine as most of my shots were within 150yds, you can certainly spend more money on a scope but the Simmons worked fine for me, I had a couple of them back in the day and had them on anything from the hornet to a 308, I recently seen one for sale on Rimfirecentral for $50.

You might try havlinsales.com. They sell mount replacements for the tip off style mounts that accepted 3/4" scopes. They specialize is Mossberg .22 type stuff, but you might email them and see if they have a mount to match your bolt pattern. Good company and good people, if they don't make it they will probably point you in the right direction.
