1st trip to the LMR this year

Discussion in 'Southwest Ohio Fishing Reports' started by Walter Adkins, Jun 23, 2007.

  1. I have not been in the LMR this year until yesterday. Fished from 2:30 till 7:00. Caught over 15 smallies, three large mouth, and more rock bass than you can shake a stick at. The rock bass and the large mouths all were under 10". The smallies were mostly between 12"-14" with a few over and one that went dead on at 17". I did hook one nice small mouth while bark bumping my spinner bait down a tree. When I set the hook I sunk it deep into that fish and also the tree. I stood there in slow thinking mode wondering why this fish is not swimming away. And before I could get over to it the bass managed to dislodge its self from not only the tree but my lure. But I know where the big girl is and will back after her next week.

    Fishman Catch bait???

Sounds like a great day on the LMR, are you fishing further north on the river? I've never caught a single Rockbass in the LMR near Cinci (inside of 275 lets say)
