I have a 1978 6hp johnson long shaft outboard. I bought the motor on e-bay 1 1/2 ago. I replaced the water impellar and put a new prop on it. I have not used it at all, but it runs fine, shifts fine, and I don't see antything else wrong with it. I last year bought a 20ft boat and don't believe that this will be enought hp to use as a kicker. I have $400.00 in it, but will take the first $300.00.

I have a 1977 Johnson 6 horse outboard. I had to replace the powerpack about twenty years ago but that is all. I've never sheared a pin on it and it runs like is was brand new even though it has many hours on it. It is a good motor and not for sale. I use it on my 14 foot aluminum boat in Spring and Fall mostly when the lake levels are down and I don't want to damage my Whaler.

I have the same motor (year is close) that I just bought last fall for restricted HP lakes. I have a 16' Sea Nymph that has deck floor and storaged compartments, etc. It will not break any land speed records but it does the trick on small bodies of water. For anyone considering the motor I personally would not be afraid to put it on anything 16' and less in aluminum.

By the way the one I have although I have not run it much yet, it is a very nice running motor. Easy starting and runs nice on low idle.

    I hope this helps.
