  1. i am looking for a stater for my outboard. the only ones i have found are anywhere from $169-$250. My budget is a little tight and I'm trying to gear up for an upcoming fishing trip. Can anyone help me out?

Sorry Bro, those older parts are getting more expensive all the time. My only suggestion is to see if there is anyone local that rebuilds vintage starters and alternators. Not sure if you'll save any money if you find one.

  3. I have a 1974 johnson 50hp that sat for a while. I hooked it up and it fired up, but needs all new seals in lower unit and some electrical work done due to a weak spark at the cylinder. I am parting the motor out. The starter is strong and would be willing to let the starter go. I suggest the starters are similar?
