Dumb question but did the spawn already come and go? I've been out several times over the last 2 weeks and not much to show ( maybe I'm just bad) but we want to head back out north of 36/37 Monday all day. Am I wasting my time in the shallows ? Thanks for any advice.
At alum the spawn will last quite a while due to the different pools down south where I like to fish I do not believe they are done from what I’ve seen.
I fished Alum yesterday for Saugeye 9 hours. Never caught or saw a Saugeye caught all day. Fished every point from the damn all the way to bridge on the west bank. From 3 feet to 25 feet deep. Tried several spots North of bridge and caught nothing but channel catfish and bluegill with a few smallmouth bass in between. Threw jigs with meat, worm harness, crank baits. Caught lots of fish just couldn't find the eyes.
Should I just stick to trolling around dream bridge at Indian tomorrow? Very new to trolling. Going to have two crawler harnesses and 2 flicker shad going. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
I would head towards the south bank. Between Russell’s Point and Lakeview. There’s a hump out there that I’ve been slaying them on.
