Just a heads up, if you wade the point just north of the causeway bait shop, the farm that butts up to the end of the bay has a new owner, he will come out and greet you will his dog claiming to own up to the water, which of course he doesn't but because of the growth at the Waters edge it's hard to stay in public and there is no define property line so IAM told it's best to wade across the bay to get to the point.

Waded Friday the 13th and this past Sunday night. Tried jig with twister tail, jig and gulp minnow and perch shad rap
after sunset. When I came back to the area in 1989 I had several great years wading and providing walleye fillets for Good Friday dinners. Call me and old fart but the last few springs have felt like the put and take walleye fishery (wading) has changed to the walleye being more like the fish of a thousand casts!

definitely has been a difficult spring wading season...last year was tough as well but 2016 was really good....I'm sure some points produce more than others but it also may be a situation where fish are staying out in deeper water??? Second hand info but I was told recently that leadcore (flickershad) in 12 foot of water has been hit and miss but when it's on it's on and some real nice fish are being caught. I'm not sure if they are holding in deeper water until water warms or not...I know fish are being caught in shallow water but not on any regular basis in places I have been fishing.

I think from wading standpoint... if the fish are there they are going to hit jig and minnow or crank baits equally as well...my personal preference has always been jig and minnow but thats where I have had more success...probably time to try some new or old standby locations..there is a point out from parking lot from marina past imagination station that I will try next.

It's definitely hit or miss no matter the water conditions. And old timer told me years ago that if the eyes move in where you are fishing you will definitely catch them. But, just because they're there today doesn't mean they'll be there tomorrow.

Also, you could decide to try another place, and have the eyes move in shortly after you leave. That's fishing!

I'm sure there are but you will not here about that...I have not seen more than 1 or 2 caught by individuals and sometimes none on the nights I have been out as well as reports by some friends...I had a couple nights with 2 but no more.. do feel that wading and boat fishing are 2 different animals when it comes to sharing info...when u find them wading you hope not to get there and have guys in that spot...I also like the solitude that wading can also provide...maybe this week water temps will warm up and so will the bite
