Fish a few 9f my early crappie spots . We ended with 3 13 inches not one under 11-1/2. Minnow a foot and a half under a bobber did the trick.we also caught 4 cats and had 2 break off on us.
My take. .It's a big, round soup bowl, very much like Wingfoot! Shallow near shore gradually getting deeper towards the middle, very little "structure". You basically move around A Lot casting til you contact fish, anchor down and fish that school. Like anywhere, the crappie relate to anything " growing" in(or fallen over into the water) near shore this time of year, near this "cover"(slightly deeper) pre-spawn, then "in it" during spawning. The rest of the year, you're just "hunting". If you find some, mark the spot w/some kind of gps, you won't be able to return to the same spot later!
Tons of weeds and pads plus it has alot of christmas trees .
