I have posted there were(might still be) walleye in this lake. Many newer, younger members don't seem to believe it so I stumbled into a post from (8+)yrs ago, and---Viola! Check this C&R, Fish Ohio! hawg out!

Yes, however, the State is Never going to stock walleye there due to the fact the outflow goes into the Cuyahoga and the(slight) possibility some could end up in Erie and "contaminate" the Erie walleye strain!(per the former Div 3 Fish Mgmt Supr!) Ok, then why not some Saugeye?? The walleye did just fine in Wft, no reason saugeye wouldn't as well. There's still the possibility(albeit very slight) of meager reproduction going on. We can hope!

Maybe those also, but Phil Hillman(RIP!) told me a couple years ago on the phone specifically it was "inland lake" walleye strains mixing w/the Erie strain they didn't want(when they bought Wft and I asked abt possible walleye stocking)! Said the risk of "contamination" was too great!? and "it never is going to happen"!(That's a direct quote). ps-I never discussed saugeye stocking w/him!

I bet a("real" walleye!) guy could go out there at crack of dawn, troll to dark in a "grid" pattern with stick baits(maybe harnesses), and catch a-maybe several?-walleye! Nighttime might be better as you could concentrate on nearshore areas where(if they're there), is where they'd be be feeding. Might even be "spawning" there right now esp along the EAST, rip rap shore!?
