After big rains, like the one that will be happening over the next few days does that hurt or help the saugeye in the spring or does it have to have some time for the water clarity to come back? I figure it should warm the water up and get them active...
Its really hard to say. In the fall i welcome any an all rain out east at buckeye. But typically it shuts them down for me this time of year.
Seems like the last round of rain thst thawed the lake didnt help much....
Im sure there will be a few biting somewhere out there though. Look for mudlines, cleaner water,or fish the dirty water during the day. Or at nite with loud bright baits..... just hard to say this time of year
I believe the rains help because it moves fish to specific places ,,, and if the water gets stained but not muddy fish tend to bite longer into the day. Fish will load up in mound wood but need the water to clean up a little before you can catch them. But if your a cat fisherman I would be at MW today and next 3 days! There is always clean water at Indian somewhere. I believe wind direction water temp. moon phase is very important in the spring.
Anyone able to give a clarity report tonight? I went to buckeye last nite, even areas that HARDLY EVER muddy up had a good stain to it. Had one heavy fish come unbottoned on a custom hj12,an thats it....
i fished alum spillway lastnight no bites.ended up at liebs island nothing.went to fairfield in the canal nothing i think i seen you over by the beach.then went to northshore nothing.its been slow for a while i guess you just have to be in the right spot at the right time.glad you got some take care
