Got out late this evening and hit a rocky area that I have not fished much lately due to wind direction and other fishermen near the spot!!;) Tonight had basically the whole lake to me except a couple of trollers trying to run aground. Was it a steady bite all evening with 13 bites on my Blue chrome #12 husky suspender? Caught 11 Saugeyes and a fat 30" catfish. Wow, did that hit wake me up! :D Ended up keeping 6 nice fat Saugeyes with the biggest right at 24" She was pretty fat and blasted husky right at the shore by the time I got her in one hook was in her mouth and thought for sure she would come off, but got her on the coast and grabbed her as quick as I could. Was pleasantly surprised at the water clarity south it was very nice.

Aidan, this is the site I use. It shows the forecast for wind direction and speed, temp, precip, and air pressure for the next 10days. I use a canoe, so a little more susceptible to the wind than a yak. If you scan down below the forecasts, past the 'nearby spots', to the 'find more spots like this' and click on the 'find spot or weather station', it will bring up a map showing the different stations. Just click on a spot to get the forecast for that area.

I don’t agree, big fish? I’m sure there’s fish over 26 in there but not enough to say there’s a population of them. I fished 80+ times there last year, helped run a saugeye tournament that lasted 2 months and had the best of the best. Biggest fish I’ve seen with a tape or board next to it was 24 something. I simply don’t think they’re in there right now. Again I know there’s outliers, but I don’t think it has much to do with them avoiding us.

I could be wrong.

What a brutal yet awesome afternoon/night. 25ish fish, 13 keeper sized with most being 16-17 inch males. Also caught two of this years hatch today, they’re out there. Limited a little before sunset and the rest was pure fun. 2 eyes and a perch on minnows, then about half the rest split between Joshys and smithwicks. Wind was all over the place and was key to them firing up! I got soaked but it was well worth it. Didn’t get a weight on her but any of you that have that board can see how much belly is on that fish. She had to of been right at 5.

WOW! I just read all 146 pages! WHAT A READ! I'm sort of new to the site, but it sure sounds like @fishslim @Saugeyefisher and @acklac7 know what they're talking about! GREAT INFORMATION GUYS! ;)

Right now the dead-stick bite on my current flow is non existent? Everyone is throwing jointed bombers with a steady, slow-roll retrieve and destroying them while I'm dead-sticking and blanking out every-night:(. That said I'm fishing for Walleye and not Saugeye, so maybe they hit different?

Is anyone doing any good dead-sticking lately? Has anyone tried a slow-roll retrieve?

Walleye, Saugeye…meh. Right now the dead-stick bite on my current flow is non existent? Probably a tad early for dead sticking. Alum surface temps last week were in the low to mid 60’s. Needs to cool down considerably for dead sticking to really shine I think. (Not to say it won’t work) Right now early to mid fall presentations will still get the job done. Slow, fast, stop an go…etc

Made it out last weekend twice. Did decent I was ripping jerk baits and still seemed quicker the better. Have been watching the weather and will be out somewhere for the night Friday. Bring on a blow and cooler temps. Had a new hj12 glass clown sat nice in water straight out the box. But i had to donate it to the fishing gods maybe I can stumble across it this weekend in the rocks. Does anyone know if alum has been dropped much yet?
