I currently have a 20ft pontoon with a 20ft trailer, single axle. Looking to get a double axle trailer. I've found a 24ft trailer with electric brakes. Question is will a 24ft trailer work for a 20ft boat. I would think launching and loading would be no problem. But would the load distribution change? Will it change the tongue weight, or the way it pulls down the highway. Any ideas appreciated.
Not even close to being knowledgeable about your question. But i wouldnt think it would matter. Plus, if you did want to go bigger you have the trailer
Move the stanchion back to adjust the load and tongue weight. A bath room scale will do the trick to get the weight in the ball park. You have to know the boat weight in order to adjust to a approx. 10% tongue weight.
Hook and book has your answer. It should be fine and should adjust to your boat i had a 24 ft pontoon before going way smaller to the boat in my picture. The trailer with our pontoon was adjustable.
